- I recently bought a Pentium with Windows 95 and a Supra 288i PnP modem.
- In the process of playing around, I managed to succeed in unassigning the
- modem from COM2. I called Supra Tech Support the next morning when the
- tech line opened. I got thru after about 15 minutes - I just left my
- phone on auto redial. The gentleman who answered was both professional
- and competent. He walked me thru what to do, and it worked. In parallel,
- I had sent e-mail to Supra with a question about transferring binary files
- with the Zmodem protocol. It took them about a week to respond, but again
- I felt like they were trying to help. In this case, the problem turned
- out to be at my IP's end.
-
- I think the key to using anyone's tech support line is to call when they
- first open. And be at your computer if at all possible.
